It's becoming cliché that every time a DJ Khaled album comes out, an influx of people say "can't wait to only hear 3 or 4 songs from this ever again." I mean, every other tweet, every other Reddit comment in r/HHH -- we get it.
I like to dunk on Khaled as much as the next guy, and there's not much to argue with in someone's criticism of him, but let's not forget some of the incredible jams this man has passed down to us. Or, rather, the songs that GOD DID. Get it?
Let me stop defending him and let's get to the list. Here's 20 songs DJ Khaled "produced" that we can't forget:
1. I'm On One (feat. Drake, Rick Ross, & Lil Wayne)
I'll just go ahead and get this one out of the way.
2. We Takin' Over (feat. Akon, T.I., Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Birdman, & Lil Wayne)
Holy cow, that's a line-up. Everyone on this list was arguably at the height of their career when this song dropped.
3. Go Hard (feat. [REDACTED] & T-Pain)
4. Holy Key (feat. Big Sean, Betty Wright, & Kendrick Lamar)
Back when people were hot off of anticipating a new Kendrick album in 2015 (it feels so long ago, could never be me again, right?), he dropped verse of the year on a song not his own. And then Big Sean got upset that he got "Control-ed" again. Good times.
5. I Can't Even Lie (feat. Future & Nicki Minaj)
6. Good Man (feat. Pusha T & Jadakiss)
7. I'm So Hood (feat. Rick Ross, T-Pain, Piles, & Trick Daddy)
8. Do You Mind (feat. Nicki Minaj, Future, Jeremih, August Alsina, Rick Ross, & Chris Brown)
Chris Brown is an absolute piece of gutter filth, but I'm not including this song because of him -- the video for this song is absolutely wild. What the fuck is Khaled even saying at the end of it... Also, it's an unequivocal banger.
9. They Ready (feat. J. Cole, Big K.R.I.T., & Kendrick Lamar)
Some people really hate this song, but I really love it. Mostly because this showcased the real upcoming trinity in hip-hop, as Big K.R.I.T. was projected to be just as popular as Cole and Kenny.
10. I'm On (feat. Nas)
11. Wild Thoughts (feat. Rihanna & Bryson Tiller)
12. Hip Hop (feat. Scarface, Nas, & DJ Premier)
Here is Khaled's last attempt to appeal to the "old heads" that blossomed his career in the first place. RIP.
13. Don't Quit (feat. Calvin Harris, Travis Scott, & Jeremih)
This seems like a leftover from Funk Wav Bounces vol. 1, and I'm okay with it.
14. No Brainer (feat. Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, & Quavo)
15. GOD DID (feat. Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, John Legend, & Jay-Z)
That's right, I listened to the new album so you wouldn't have to, and this is the only memorable song in my opinion. It's centered around a four minute Jay-Z verse, which is freaking great.
16. Hell's Kitchen (feat. J. Cole & Bas)
17. SORRY NOT SORRY (feat. Nas, Jay-Z, & James Fauntleroy)
18. Holla At Me (feat. Paul Wall, Pitbull, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, & Fat Joe)
Did... did Pitbull just wash Lil Wayne on a song...?
19. Wish Wish (feat. Cardi B & 21 Savage)
20. All I Do Is Win (feat. T-Pain, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, & Rick Ross)
I'm not even sure this is a good song, but I'll never forget watching Emma Stone lip-sync it on live TV and being amazed. Go watch this and then decide if it belongs on this list.
