Thoughts

This entire “thoughts” section only serves to fill space on a page and keep me from having to actually look at news.

News

1. Sublime getting biopic:

Francis Lawrence, director of I Am Legend and most of the Hunger Games films will helm the film, with a script by Chris Mundy, an executive producer on Ozark. No cast has been announced yet. Gotta think this is a big day for white dudes with dreadlocks everywhere.

2. Cardi B plea deal:

Cardi B agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor relating to a fight at a strip club in 2018. She received a sentence of community service in lieu of jail time.

3. R. Kelly convicted on child pornography charges:

This guy did so much awful shit that it feels like he’s getting convicted of something once a month.

4. Nicki Minaj sues blogger:

Minaj alleges defamation after being called a “cokehead” and seeks in excess of $75,000.00.

5. Sam Fender cancels tour, cites mental health concerns

The couple’s divorce is currently “suspended” following an incident in which Branch slapped Carney due to learning of his infidelity.

7. Mark David Chapman denied parole for the 12th time:

9. Britney Spears says she will probably never perform again, cites trauma associated with conservatorship

10. Drake beefs with Anthony Fantano (editor's addition):

Hello, hello, Dane here butting in to talk about the corniest shit of the year -- billionaire chooses to beef with a YouTuber. A rumor circulated this week that Drake had not taken Anthony Fantano's recent criticism of his albums well, and had messaged him over Instagram. Fantano reportedly denied this claim, and said Drake sent him a recipe for a vegan cookie. Drake didn't like that and took to Instagram to post the real DMs, seen above.

I mean, what's really corny, Drake? An untalented white man choosing to rate other people's music? Or a man with so much money and who "has more slaps than the Beatles" getting upset because someone didn't wear the right color flannel shirt while reviewing your album? Sad face :(

Can you tell I don't like either of these people? More as this develops.

Such

What’s channel.WAV listening to this week?

Ritter: Took a quick break from Stevie this week, and wanted to highlight these geniuses. DSM has quickly risen to near the top of my favorite hip-hop releases of the year. Very versatile sound and range of each of the members of Van Buren Records.

Slone: This is another important video: Watch as Morrissey invites fans for hugs, trapping them into being thrown offstage by security. BRILLIANT. This guy is such an awful person. Idk if y’all know this but Morrissey is basically the original [REDACTED] as far as being someone whose music I adore and who I personally despise.

BottsI forgot to text Aaron this week so just pick a HAIM song, thanks, love y’all. Editor's note -- I picked this one, it's a great song.
