Welcome back! We've had a full week of publishing, but the week isn't complete without FRIDAY! Check out our selection of new music below:
Calvin Harris - Funk Wav. Bounces vol. 2:
Everyone yaps about music hitting its peak in Summer 2016, and yeah, Blonde came out that year. But what about 2017 supremacy? Like Funk Wav. Bounces vol. 1 wasn't a hit, front-to-back.
This isn't as good, though, it is pretty fun and summer-y.
Carly Rae Jepsen - "Beach House":
Carly is back twice in one year! And this time she announced an album! Holy smokes!
The 1975 - "Happiness":
I swear to God I thought they already had a song called the same name. Anyway, they're bringing their tour to Newport, KY, and I shall be attending.
Drake - "Sticky":
This is the second single from the very forgettable Honestly, Nevermind. The video isn't half bad, and the song is tolerable. Enjoy.
DJ Khaled - "Staying Alive (feat. Drake & Lil Baby)":
Speaking of Drake, here's... this. I don't know.
Doechii - she / her / black bitch:
Post-Kendrick TDE has got everyone perplexed -- where will they go next? Will SZA's sophomore album ever see the light of day? Meanwhile, their most recent signee Doechii shows so much promise, and has put out an incredible EP.
benny blanco - "Bad Decisions (with BTS & Snoop Dogg)":
I've never been a big fan of BTS besides their occasional hit (like last year's "Butter"), but they sound really good here. And Uncle Snoop rarely disappoints, unless its his business skills revolving NFTs and removing the back catalogue of his record company.
Kaytranada - "Twin Flame (feat. Anderson .Paak)":
This has been my favorite release this week, and there's not a harder-working producer in the game than Kaytra.
The Killers - "boy":
Someone is telling me the Killers haven't released music in a while, but didn't they just put music out two years ago? Whose standards are we going by? KISS in the 70s?
bLAck pARty - Hummingbird:
I have no clue who this artist is, where they came from, or what their deal is, but the fact they're able to pull a Childish Gambino feature in 2022 has piqued my interest.
