Fresh Friday - July 1st, 2022

Alas, another week come and gone, and another Friday to rejoice in. Take heed, dear readers; find below a list of wondrous musical accompaniment for this week's rapture!

Cardi B - "Hot Shit (feat. [REDACTED] & Lil Durk)":

Cardi is back with maybe the first single for her sophomore album? Please, God?

Who had the best verse? Argue about it in the comments! Go!

Men I Trust - “Hard to Let Go”:

Probably my favorite part of this weekly feature is introducing some of my favorite under-the-radar acts. Here's another great one for fans of mellow, synthy jams.

Broken Bells - “We’re Not in Orbit Yet”:

Along with announcing their first album in eight years, the band made up of one half Shins frontman and one half Danger Mouse, Broken Bells gives us a great summer vibe.

Steve Lacy - "Bad Habits”:

As though "Mercury" wasn't enough of a jam, here is Steve Lacy of former the Internet fame with a second single from his forthcoming album, Gemini Rights

Calvin Harris - “New Money (feat. 21 Savage)”:

Calvin officially announced the release of Funk Wav Bounces vol. 2, out August 5th (for an album that is supposed to soundtrack summer, that's kind of late :/ ). Here's 21 Savage trying to fool us that he's not a gremlin, rapping all sweet and what not.

The Minions - Minions: The Rise of Gru (OST):

My wife laughed at me while typing this, but this soundtrack has it all: Diana Ross x Tame Impala, St. Vincent playing "Funkytown", and MINIONS! Enjoy it for me.

The Goo Goo Dolls - "Yeah, I Like You":

It wouldn't be Fresh Friday if I didn't include at least one mediocre song. Here it is. It's not bad, but as far as my standards for the band that wrote "Iris", it's not good. Sometimes a band needs to know when to hang it up.
