Fresh Friday: May 6th, 2022

Happy May -- it's six days in and, lord, beer us strength. We've got some great new music out today, so let's not waste any time! Here are some of this week's incredible new music:

A$AP Rocky - "D.M.B."

No, this is not a long awaited collaboration between New York's finest and the Dave Matthews Band -- the acronym stands for "Dats My Bitch," which is inappropriately appropriate, considering the entire song is about Rihanna, A$AP's girlfriend. It's an okay song, but a hell of a music video.

Jack Harlow - Come Home the Kids Miss You

The Kentucky fire starter is back with his sophomore studio album, and it's packed with some classic features (most notably Drake and Justin Timberlake). Additionally, he's released a music video for "First Class," the Fergie-sampling single that we covered in last month's Fresh Friday. It's alright.

Arcade Fire - WE

It's been a while since Arcade Fire put out an album, and their last one is anything but memorable. Is WE any better? We sure as hell think so.

Tove Lo - "No One Dies From Love"

This is a wild song, a wild music video, this is going to be a hit if I had to guess. She's back and better than ever.

Carly Rae Jepsen - "Western Wind"

Every occasionally I'll give Carly Rae Jepsen here a shot at impressing me, and this time around I was very impressed.

Doja Cat - "Vegas"

I don't know why this song exists, and I still am really confused after hearing it. It's not a bad song, but for a movie about Elvis, I'm really not sure why Doja Cat was one of the first choices for the soundtrack. It samples "Hound Dog," and Doja has her usual clever lyrics... but.... why?

SiR - "Satisfaction"

Speaking of Kendrick, Top Dawg Entertainment is focused on literally anything else besides promoting Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. The entire TDE lineup, besides Isaiah Rashad who dropped last year, has released a song in the past month. Again... why?

Anyway, the SiR song is great -- he should be the face of modern R&B.
