Welcome to the Friday Roundup (of News and Thoughts and Such) which, at six consecutive weeks, is channel.WAV’s longest running and most prestigious column, in which I, Brandon Slone, a guy whose back hurts like hell tonight, talk about some of the week’s biggest stories that we didn’t cover in long form this week. Let’s dive into this week’s news. I maybe kind of forgot to write this this week :)
1. Live Nation no longer doing business with Russia
2. Kim Kardashian restored to “legally single status”
Ye took this about as maturely as you would expect and killed Pete Davidson in a music video. I really want him to stop being in the public eye.
3. Charli XCX pulls out of NFT festival, cites fan backlash
So what I’d like to know here is: has any celebrity entering the NFT space ever gotten a positive reaction? Because the cycle is always “announcement, fan outrage, *surprised Pikachu meme*. The shit is aggressively stupid and the sooner we move on from this idiotic fad the better.
4. Jack White teams up with Q Tip for new song
This isn’t news, is it? I just saw a picture of Jack White and thought “he looks like Evan Peters auditioning for a Tim Burton movie.” That’s like a B- joke and I’m never going to get a better chance to use it. Anyway, song’s pretty good.
What’s channel.WAV listening to this week?
Ritter: Conway the Machine’s major label debut album, God Don’t Make Mistakes, lived up to the hype. Give it a listen!
Slone: We’re on a Nick Cave kick this week.
Botts: Did you know Brandon’s discover weekly is arguably cooler than he is? *Brandon’s note: this is not arguable, i literally tweeted about it a week ago* I don’t think so, but it’s hard to dispute because I haven’t stopped listening to my new favorite sad cowboy singer. Check out Blaze Foley and his song Clay Pigeons as the nukes fall. You won’t be disappointed.

Do you want Dane to do a funny thing? Idk how funny. Maybe he’ll let me throw a pie at him or something. Leave a comment.

**Editor's note (aka Dane) -- I would let Brandon smack me with a pie, but gently. And I would allow him to tweet the video from the channel.WAV account. All you have to do is leave a comment!
I demand Dane gets pied in the face every week until Frank Ocean releases new music
